In room 3 we have been doing active learning. For my group this term we have been doing string art.
Here is a pic of me and my string art: I am proud with my finished product. One thing I found challenging was doing the background with the white string. If I had to do it again I would do a more challenging picture.
WOW!!!! Look how cool it looks. I was mostly scared for the high jump but I did it second. The shot put was so heavy. For shot put you had to push not throw. In the 100 meter run I didn't stop because I said to my self, just keep running just keep running, and it helped me very much. In long jump I tried to not put my foot over the line. On the practice I put my foot over the line. Then on the real one I didn't put my foot over the line. For the landing you had to do a motorbike landing which we learnt at gymnastics. I had a lot fun at athletics day.
This is me doing high jump. What we had to know ,was what leg we use. To find out, we had to fall forward to find which leg we put out to save ourselves. For me I think it was my right leg that I used. In this photo it looks like I am about to do a karate kick.
In He Puna Pumanawa we have been learning how to signal for help and save people from the water if they need help. This technique is called reach rescue.
We had cross country on the 3rd of September. Everyone had to sit in there house teams. My Nanny came to watch me. I was so nervous. I was in Puriri (the red house). When it was my turn, my heart was pounding. My mum said if I get in the top twenty I can get an ice chocolate. When I was finished I was so relieved. My chest was hurting but the drink of water fixed it. Everyone was cheering for their houses. My legs were so sore. Running around the block during practice really payed off and I'm so proud of myself.
This is my artwork. it represents my learning journey with some little decorations. In class we have been looking at different types of lines and shapes and how they create art. My art is made out of different lines and shapes.
He Puna Pumanawa have just been to the museum. We went in the star dome and looked at the stars. People say there's seven, six or ten stars in the matariki cluster. But there is actually 1,000 stars in the matariki cluster. We learned this poem about the stars white and blue are young and new, red and gold are old and cold. The name for the three stars toutoru. The puanga star is directly up above toutoru. I really enjoyed our trip to the museum.
I have enjoyed swimming because I got to learn how to do breaststroke and dolphin dive. I enjoyed doing Art because its my favorite subject. I'm looking forward to what kind of work I'm doing next term. I want to achieve on timetables in Math because I don't know them yet.
On Tuesday the 19th of March there was a ballet show on and all of the seniors got to go. There was only one year 4 class. There were amazing dancers! I can´t really remember the name of my favorite dance but I can tell you why I liked it. I liked It because I liked the costumes and it was cool. I learnt some new moves to do because sometimes I just dance.
I improved on Backstroke because my head doesn̈́'t go underwater anymore. I want to improve on Freestyle and Breaststrokebecause I just need to learn to put my head on the side and breathe. Breaststroke, I still need to breathe without touching the ground.
